How to Set Sreen Resolutions
  1. Click Start or skip the intervening steps and start at the note in step 4.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click Control Panel (if you are running Windows XP, simply click Control Panel after clicking Start).
  4. Click Display (if you are running Windows XP in Category View, click Appearance and Themes, then click Change the screen resolution and skip the next step). Note: you can skip all the previous steps and simply right-click on your desktop and select properties on any Windows machine to get to this step.
  5. Click Settings.
  6. Near the bottom of this window, you will see Screen Resolution with some numbers and a slider bar below that. If, reading from left to right, the numbers are 800 and 600, please close any sidebars you may have open on the left-hand side of your browser. If both numbers are greater than or equal to 800 and 600, respectively, then please click on a link above or below, and skip the rest of the steps. You are done.
  7. If not, click and drag the slider bar to the right until it says 800 X 600 (or 800 by 600 pixels in Windows XP), and please close any sidebars you may have open on the left-hand side of your browser. Please note: if you are runnning Windows 95 and you notice that you cannot move the slider bar, because it is grayed-out and stuck on 640 X 480, visit our Contact Us page, fill in the requested information with: Screen resolution in the Comments portion, and we will tell you how to fix this problem free of charge.
  8. Before you click Apply, click Advanced.
  9. Make sure that Apply the new display settings without restarting (or Ask me before applying the new display settings) is selected, and click OK.
  10. Click Apply. Your screen may go blank for a couple of seconds. This is normal.
  11. You will then be asked if you want to keep these new settings. Click Yes.
  12. Finally, click OK.
